My story is i was on clomid for 11months got pregnant after the 6th shot but sadly had a m/c then i started gonal-f injections got pregnant 3rd month with times intercourse i refused iui that month but got pregnant but had another m/c. Both m/c were early where my hormone levels dont double the way they should. I am now on my 4th cycle of gonal-f just away to take the ovitrell injection to make sure i ovulate i have 2 good size follicles waiting and this is the 1st time i have ever had 2 am just praying that this could be my month!! Am just wondering if anyone has had m/c like me and even went on to have a baby? Thanks for any answers xx

WASHINGTON Taxpayers have shelled out at least $200 million since 2004 for medications that have never been reviewed by the government for safety and effectiveness but are still covered under Medicaid, an Associated Press analysis of federal data has found. Millions of private patients are taking such drugs, as well.

The availability of unapproved prescription drugs to the public may create a dangerous false sense of security. Dozens of deaths have been linked to them.

Of note was the report from UCSF-led ACRIN study, on the use of breast MRI in the assessment of neoadjuvant chemotherapy -

“MRI is superior to mammography for evaluating the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer, according to the early results of a trial from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and nine other academic centers in the U.S. The results were presented at last week’s American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN) fall meeting”.

The study was developed under ACRIN’s protocol 6657, representing the imaging side of the larger I-SPY (Investigation of Serial Studies to Predict Your Therapeutic Response With Imaging and Molecular Analysis) trial aimed at gauging breast cancer treatment response. Sponsored by the Cancer and Leukemia Group B Foundation (CALGB), the I-SPY trial is “testing imaging and tissue-based biomarkers in combination, predicting neoadjuvant response to standard chemotherapy,” explained Nola Hylton, Ph.D., a principal investigator from UCSF who discussed the results.
